This is how much Sarah Jessica Parker is making on the set of ...And Just Like That
The actress is reportedly cashing in big time!
Turns out that agreeing to reprise your most iconic role comes along with a hefty paycheck—just ask Sarah Jessica Parker, who is returning to the small screen as Carrie Bradshaw, arguably her most talked-about character, on the upcoming revival of Sex and the City, And Just Like That…
Just a few weeks after the actress responded to "misogynist" comments about the Sex and the City reboot, Variety reports that Sarah Jessica is cashing in over a million dollars per episode to star in the HBO revival.
And Just Like That... is scheduled to run for a total of 10 episodes—which means the star is making over $10 million on the project.
Sarah Jessica's co-stars, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, are also reportedly making the same salary on the show.
For perspective—according to Celebrity Net Worth, Sarah Jessica made about $50 million on the first three seasons of Sex and the City. After becoming a producer on the show starting season 4, she reportedly started making $3.2 million per episode (that's $147 million for seasons 4, 5 and 6). Her paycheck was close to $15 million on the set of the first Sex and the City movie and $20 on the second installment of the film.
Clearly, the actress is the irreplaceable heart and soul of the HBO show. But Carrie Bradshaw isn’t the sole source of Sarah Jessica’s healthy salary: the star also earns cash through her Garnier endorsements, her perfume line, her wine brand and her very successful shoe business. Talk about diversifying your portfolio.
As staggering as the numbers sound, we must say that we aren’t surprised. Carrie Bradshaw has, in fact, become part and parcel of television history, the source of a myriad of think pieces and dissections throughout the years. The excitement that the announcement of a Sex and the City reboot provoked was palpable across the world: fans have been craving more of Carrie and Big, a desire that seems to be worth the enormous price tag that the show’s cast comes along with.

Whether the quality of the upcoming episodes—premiering on December 9 on HBO Max—will justify the costs associated with the reboot is yet to be seen, but we sure have high hopes. Although, as widely reported, Kim Cattrall will not be returning as the hilarious PR exec Samantha Jones, the series adds a slew of new exciting characters: Seema Patel (played by Sarita Choudhury), a "powerhouse Manhattan real estate broker;" Lisa Todd Wexley (played by Nicole Ari Parker), a documentarian and mother of three who lives on Park Avenue; Dr. Nya Wallace (played by Karen Pittman), a Columbia Law professor; and Che Diaz (played by Sara Ramirez), a queer podcaster and stand-up comedian, among other new additions.
For what it's worth, we're counting down the days to December 9.
