The significance behind Carrie Johnson's striking floral dress at the G7 summit
All eyes have been on Cornwall this weekend with the G7 summit underway

Carrie Johnson looked striking in a floor-length floral dress for the G7 summit at The Eden Project in Cornwall this weekend, but the significance of her outfit choice goes far beyond her polished appearance.
Carrie's floral-print dress, designed by The Vampire's Wife (which is said to be one of Kate Middleton's dress brands of choice thanks to its signature embellished sleeves and gothic silhouettes), was actually rented for the occasion—as was the rest of her G7 wardrobe.
It's undoubtedly an important moment for Carrie, who married Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a quiet ceremony a fortnight ago, so the sterling lineup of outfits for the three-day event comes as no surprise.
But it's refreshing to see the Prime Minster's wife enjoying wearing some of the best dresses and jumpsuits designers have to offer via a clothing rental company.
As reported by the MailOnline, Carrie rented her silk dress—which would have cost an eye-watering £805—and statement yellow Prada heels from British website HURR, which describes itself as "the platform for fashion rental".
The website describes Carrie's The Vampire's Wife gown as, "crafted in the UK from lustrous silk-satin printed with yellow and red flowers".

As an advocate for better environmental practices in her position as senior advisor to ocean conservation charity Oceana, it's no big surprise that Carrie opted for a sustainable fashion choice.

Boris Johnson posted a picture from the occasion, where the couple met Her Majesty The Queen, alongside the caption, "My fellow @g7 leaders and I were honored to join Her Majesty The Queen and members of the @theroyalfamily at the @edenprojectcornwall this evening.
"This wonderful place is a showcase for the beauty of the natural world, which we are all committed to preserving for future generations."
The couple has been busy this weekend on a tour of Cornwall, taking part in various political engagements as part of the G7 summit.
Tonight, they enjoyed a BBQ on the beach alongside the Bidens, with an airshow overhead from the RAF Red Arrows. During the event, Boris Johnson tweeted, "What a sight! Thank you to the incredible RAF Red Arrows for an amazing show."
It's also been an eventful weekend for the Queen, who attended the G7 event at The Eden Project on Friday and also hosted POTUS Joe Biden and the First Lady at Windsor Castle for afternoon tea.
Jill Biden wore a classic powder blue two-piece for the event, while Her Majesty stunned in summer florals.
