If you're excited for Autumn TV to begin, then here's another one to add to your schedule - The Great British Bake Off has just announced it will be back on our screens in just two weeks.

The baking contest, which is presented by Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, took to Twitter, to announce the start date - and we can't wait for Prue's hilarious innuendos.

Known for its A-list hosts, successful baker contestants, and of course, hundreds of baking innuendos, the Channel 4 reality show, which started in 2010, is sure to be filled this year with many a soggy bottom.

Whether you love making the Great British Bake Off recipes as you watch the Channel 4 show, or you love the filthy innuendos - that shocked viewers in last year's series of the Bake Off, you'll be excited to know it will be back on our screens on 13th September.

The official Twitter account for the Great British Bake Off took to the social media site, posting a smiling picture of the four presenters, tweeting alongside it, "In knead of some good news? Here’s a little something… The Great British Bake Off is back on your screens on Tuesday 13th September at 8pm! #GBBO"

Bake Off 2022 will see also see comedians Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas reprise their roles as co-presenters, while veteran judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be back to offer contestants feedback on their bakes.

Fans replied in their 100's, excited about the return of the show, with one tweeting, "Not me warning everyone in the family group chat that from the 13th of September every Tuesday from 8pm, I shall not be texted, phoned or anything. That is #gbbo time."

Another joked, with lots of baking puns, "Aah, Our hearts are a-glaze! The mas-sieve news we've been kneading to hear! All-dough it's taken a while, loaf is good once more & batter days are here again! Muffin compares to the style & ganache brought by the #GBBO gang. Wel-crumb back & don't dessert us again."

One of the show's presenters, Prue Leith, shocked viewers last year, with a very filthy innuendo. As she spoke to George, one of last year's contestants, about how he could properly fill his choux nuts with a creamy filling, she said, "It's important that you get the filling all the way around, quite often I need two holes, so that I can squirt."
