Susanna Reid says emotional goodbye to former Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan after final studio visit
Piers Morgan stepped down from hosting the ITV show earlier this month
Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid has bid her outspoken former co-host Piers Morgan a final farewell as he cleared out his old dressing room.
The two may not have always seen eye-to-eye on every issue, but they previously presented the ITV breakfast show for over five years together. Now Morgan has been to collect his belongings from his old dressing room after stepping down as host earlier this month. His departure came after Morgan left the GMB set after a discussion about Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry became heated.
ITV later confirmed in a statement: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."
Now Susanna Reid has said goodbye one last time to Morgan, as he took to social media to share that he’d returned to the GMB studio to collect his belongings and clear out his old dressing room.

Posting a photo of the room, several neatly taped-up boxes could be seen, whilst a life-sized cut-out of Susanna Reid rested against the wall in the background.
‘Goodbye, Good Morning Britain! (I think I’ll leave the cardboard cut-out, would be a bit creepy to take that home...)’ Morgan wrote.

Following the announcement of Morgan’s decision to step down as GMB host, Susanna addressed his absence on the show the next day, saying that “Piers and I have disagreed on many things”, one of these being his recent comments about Meghan Markle.
She went on to describe him as “an outspoken, challenging, opinionated, disruptive broadcaster” and stated that “it is certainly going to be very different” without him, but “shows go on, and so on we go.”
Morgan’s departure comes after he shocked GMB viewers when he stated he did not believe Meghan Markle, who recently opened up to Oprah Winfrey about her struggles with her mental health during the first few years after marrying Prince Harry.

He also argued with weather presenter Alex Beresford who told Morgan off for continuing to "trash" the duchess. Following the disagreement between them, Morgan walked off set and did not return for 10 minutes.
ITV also announced that Ofcom launched an investigation after it received more than 41,000 complaints about comments made by Morgan on GMB about Meghan and Harry's Oprah interview.
It’s since been claimed that Duchess Meghan herself filed a complaint and was concerned about the way his comments could affect the issue of mental health.
It is not yet known who will be Morgan’s permanent replacement as GMB host, though Ben Shephard stood in recently, presenting alongside Susanna.
