Ruth Langsford slams husband Eamonn Holmes over 'shameful' sexist comments
Cheeky, Eamonn!
Ruth Langsford was forced to step in and give her husband Eamonn Holmes a slap on the wrist when he made a naughty comment live on This Morning.
The hosting duo, who are standing in for usual This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield while they enjoy their annual summer break, were busy chatting to guest Alice Beer about summer camping essentials.
Alice gave the married couple the chance to make a guess what she was holding up, as she presented them with a portable washing line on the video call.
"What do you think this is? This is more essential than you will know. You need this more this year than ever before," she said.
Ruth quickly came through with the correct answer, announcing, "It's not a portable washing line?"
"You're too darn smart Langsford," Alice praised, while Eamonn was full of excuses as to why he didn't recognise the essential item.
"That's why I wouldn't know what it is because I would never use a washing line," the Northern Irish telly star insisted.

His wife Ruth was left rather irked by his comment, chipping in to scold her hubby of ten years, branding him "sexist".
Confessing he's not much of a laundry-doer, Eamonn retorted, "I'm just saying 'I', I'm saying it against me not you. I have no idea. I've never hung up the washing."
"Well that's shameful to admit. Shameful," Ruth chipped in.
This comes after Eamonn left Ruth irritated when he enjoyed some flirtatious banter with a special This Morning guest.
Viewers were left laughing when an Adele impersonator began showering Eamonn with compliments.
The wannabe Adele songstress was busy chatting about her decision to shed around seven stone following the real Adele’s shock weight loss transformation that left the world gobsmacked earlier this year.
During the interview she couldn’t help but praise Eamonn on his own physique, praising him on looking “trim” and admitting to having a “soft spot” for him.
'Omg Ruth she’s not going to actually steal your man, the jealousy is literally pouring out of her facial expressions,’ one member of the audience wrote on Twitter.
‘Putting it on the big fella in front of Ruth #ThisMorning,’ joked a second.
‘Did Ruth’s eyes goes devil red then. #ThisMorning,’ asked another.
