Ruth Langsford shows off genius lockdown exercise as she shares glimpse of her lovely garden
Ruth Langfsford has shared with fans the very simple exercise she’s relying on to keep fit during lockdown - and it’s genius!
The TV presenter is trying to keep active during lockdown, and took to her Instagram page to share how she’s planning to do it.
Inspired by an old workout video with personal trainer Frank, Ruth decided to give her old jumping rope another go and get back into skipping.
Sharing a video of herself doing the exercise, Ruth also shared a glimpse of her gorgeous garden – a great spot for exercising!
Alongside the clip, she wrote, ‘So...inspired by my previous post with @fitwithfrank (filmed in 2017 by the way for those asking!) I’m going to try skipping again! Loved it as a kid....bit harder when you’re 60! Only managed about 20 skips before I got tangled! If at first you don’t succeed .... #isolationexercises #skipping’.
Ruth’s fans were also clearly impressed with the support her sports bra offered – so much so that she revealed which one she wears.
She wrote, ‘Thank you for all your comments about my skipping efforts....SO many asking what sports bra I wear!!! Well, it’s this one from @marksandspencer Bought 3 when I did Strictly and they’re still going strong! Don’t know if they still do this one but they might have something similar. #isolationexercises #skipping #sportsbra’.

Skipping is a great way to exercise, as it’s considered one of the cheapest, most effective, fat burning workouts you can do.
Contrary to what you might think, it’s a full body workout and just 10 minutes of it takes the same effort of running a mile in eight minutes - while it’s also less jolting on your joints.
It’s also said to improve coordination, stamina and focus – not bad, eh?
Maybe we'll give it a try ourselves...
