Prince Harry snags an executive role at a mental health app
Introducing the chief impact officer of BetterUp
It looks like the Duke of Sussex has accepted a new challenge. The California-based mental health and wellness company, BetterUp Inc., revealed that Prince Harry is the newest member of its team.
• Prince Harry will join BetterUp Inc. as its first chief impact officer.
• The Duke of Sussex used the mental health company’s app before joining its leadership team.
• In other royal news, Princess Eugenie is celebrating her first birthday as a new mom.
Just because Prince Harry is no longer a working member of the royal family doesn’t mean he’s taking a breather. Rather, he just landed an executive role with the app, BetterUp. Ultimately, his previous work-and even his own experience interacting with BetterUp coaches-will allow him to expand the company’s mission of enriching people’s lives.
“We are energized by his model of inspiration and impact through action,” Alexi Robichaux, BetterUp’s CEO, said in a statement. “As a true citizen of the world, he has dedicated his life’s work to bringing attention to the diverse needs of people everywhere and advocating for mental health initiatives.”
Prince Harry got to share his thoughts on this exciting opportunity.

“As BetterUp’s first Chief Impact Officer, my goal is to lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations. And my hope is to help people develop their inner strength, resilience, and confidence.”
As he kicks off his new gig, Prince Harry said he’ll be honing in on four main goals: driving advocacy and awareness, guiding the company’s social mission and impact, enhancing the user experience, and expanding the global community.
Judging from the reception on social media, people are quite pleased with BetterUp's newest team member. One user commented "Given what he’s done with Sentebale, the invictus, travalyst and his 10yrs in military you guys couldn’t have chosen a better guy," while another said, "Wonderful choice and very fitting!"
