Prince Harry breaks silence on secret visit to Queen after extending ‘olive branch’ to Royal Family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid a visit to the Queen ahead of their Invictus Games appearance in the Netherlands…
Prince Harry broke his silence following his and Meghan Markle’s recent visit to the Queen after reports he had extended an “olive branch” to the Royal Family.
- The Duke of Sussex has opened up about how wonderful it was to see his grandmother the Queen after almost a year.
- The Sussexes traveled to Windsor Castle ahead of their appearance at the Invictus Games and Prince Harry was given “plenty” of messages to pass on.
- This royal news comes as Meghan Markle's white mini dress and bold red lip gave us major Hollywood glamour vibes.
Two years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “stepped back” as senior members of the Royal Family, the couple returned to the UK for a very special reason. Prince Harry and Meghan saw the Queen in a lowkey visit before going on to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands. During their appearance at the Games, Prince Harry’s sweet gesture talking about his children captured fans’ hearts and they got a glimpse of Meghan’s baggy jeans outfit in a more casual twist on her usual elegant look.
Now, days after the reports of their visit to Her Majesty at Windsor Castle circulated, Prince Harry broke his silence on the secret trip…
As revealed by OK!, Prince Harry discussed his and Meghan’s visit to the Queen whilst speaking to the BBC about the Invictus Games. The Duke of Sussex is said to have told them that it was “great” to see Her Majesty.
"She had plenty of messages for Team U.K., which I have already passed on to most of them,” he explained before adding, “So, it was great to see her. I'm sure she would love to be here if she could."
The visit came almost a year after Prince Philip’s funeral, which marked the last time Prince Harry is believed to have reunited with the Queen and the extended Royal Family. It’s lovely to think that they enjoyed a “great” meeting this year and some have even claimed that it had been Prince Harry who extended an “olive branch”.
According to The Sun an insider claimed to them that it was the Queen’s grandchild who “instigated” the meeting and that the Sussexes also saw Prince Charles.

“Harry contacted his father and said he was coming over with Meghan and he wanted to meet,” they alleged. “Harry instigated it all. It was an olive branch from Harry and made in an effort to clear the air.”
They went on to claim, “Charles wants to heal things with his son and his daughter-in-law and ultimately wants to meet his grandchildren. As the Queen said when [their royal exit] was signed, they will always be a much-loved part of the family.
“By seeing the Queen before they arrived in Holland for a high-profile visit, they managed to diminish any idea they were snubbing her. Charles was happy to have them.”
The monarch still has yet to meet Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, though it’s thought that this could happen within a matter of months as they are reportedly invited to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 celebrations in June.
If the Sussex family flies over for the occasion, fans might get to see them join their relatives on the Buckingham Palace balcony to mark the Queen’s extraordinary 70-year reign.
