Hollywood icon to return to Neighbours for final episode and we're already excited!
A major Hollywood star will return to Neighbours for the final episode of the Australian soap
Margot Robbie will return to Neighbours as Donna Freedman for the final episode of the soap as it finally concludes 37 years after it began in 1985.
Margot Robbie is one of the many former Neighbours stars who ended up with huge success and is now a beloved Hollywood icon who is set to star opposite Ryan Gosling in a live-action Barbie movie.
Although she is now an icon and A-lister, the star will be returning to Ramsay Street, her old stomping ground, as she reprises the role that kickstarted her career in 2008.
A source revealed to The Sun, "Everyone working on the soap was determined that Neighbours would end on a real high and when they reached out to Margot she said ‘yes’ straight away."
The source added that Margot was happy to return as she loved the show. "There was no way she wasn’t going to be a part of the historic big finale as she’s always spoken so fondly about her time on the soap and how it helped to launch her movie career."
They added that unfortunately Margot's appearance will not be in person, but will be reprising her role in a slightly unique way. "Sadly, she couldn’t get to Australia for filming but recorded a special clip that will be shown in the big finale," said the source.

Her primary romantic relationships were with Ringo Brown who she married later, Sunny Lee, with whom she had a same-sex kiss, and Andrew Robinson, who she had an affair with. Margot left the show in 2011 and just a couple of years later in 2013 she made her major breakthrough in the film, The Wolf of Wall Street.
Margot is just one of the many former cast members who are returning to Ramsay Street for the final episode.
Margot Robbie is not the only A-lister who is set to return to the show. Kylie Minogue's Neighbours return has been spoken about for months as she is set to reprise her role as Charlene Mitchell alongside Jason Donovan's Scott Robinson.
Ian Smith, who played Harold Bishop, will also be returning alongside Guy Pearce, Daniel MacPherson, and Natalie Bassingthwaite.
