Loose Women viewers were left furious after yesterday’s episode, when one member of the panel made a rather controversial comment.
During a discussion about self-isolation and potential lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic, TV and radio host Carol McGiffin said something that riled a lot of viewers.
Carol, who has just returned from a trip to France, declared that she feels following social distancing advice will make “no difference” to the spread of Covid-19.
“I'm not sure it's going to make much difference,” she explained.
Commenting on those who are panic buying, she added, “Mad people over here think they're never going to go out of the house again.”
Having seen co-star Nadia Sawalha using anti-bacterial wipes, Carol remarked, “You're making me anxious just doing that.”
Having heard her opinion, loads of irritated viewers took to social media to brand her comments ‘dangerous’.

One Tweeter called for Loose Woman to be taken off air, writing, ‘ITV should take #LooseWomen off the air this second. Millions watching this and we have Carol spouting her dangerous views without a shred of credibility.’
‘Carol McGiffin on #LooseWomen now to tell us that she doesn’t think lockdown will make any difference, despite all evidence to the contrary. Staggering that these imbeciles get to spread dangerous misinformation like this,’ agreed another.
Others were quick to slate Carol’s attitude towards the global health crisis.
One said, ‘Why is Carol not in quarantine coming back from France??? Selfish!!’
‘Why did Carol laugh at the process of washing your hands. Ridiculous attitude people are dying. #LooseWomen,’ chipped in another.
Some fans of the chat show seemed to agree with Carol though, taking to Twitter to support her.
‘I agree with Carol on the whole panic buying and everything that is happening in the supermarkets. It's a crazy time we are living in right now #LooseWomen,’ one insisted.
