Kylie Minogue rocks retro 80s style curls for Neighbours reunion with Jason Donovan
Kylie Minogue will reprise her role as Charlene Mitchell in the Australian soap opera for its final ever episode later this month
Kylie Minogue underwent a dramatic makeover for her return to Neighbours as Charlene Mitchell this week, rocking the iconic character's blonde frizzy hair and casual 80s wardrobe for the soap's final ever episode.
The Australian popstar has given fans of the recently axed show major throwback vibes, sharing three behind-the-scenes photos from its set on Monday.
Despite a petition to save Neighbours gaining over 75,000 signatures, the Channel 5 soap opera will air its final ever episode on July 29. Its last scenes will see a number of its original cast members revive their roles for an emotional send-off after an impressive 37 years on the small screen.
In the first official images released from the reunion, Kylie can be seen dressed as her former character, Charlene Mitchell, while embracing her on-screen lover, Scott Robinson (Jason Donovan) on the set of the Melbourne TV studio.
Styled in denim overalls and rocking blonde frizzy hair, the 54-year-old looks almost identical to the wild child she portrayed on Neighbours from 1986 to 1988. A photo of an autographed street sign, Ramsay Street, the fictional address of the show's residents, is also included in the carousel.
"Now we’re back together," the Aussie star captioned the post, referring to the duet the couple performed together in 1989.

Jason Donovan also revved up buzz for the forthcoming finale, sharing the same photos on his own Instagram with the words, "So good to be back with this absolute legend."
Melanie C of the Spice Girls, who has previously said she'd love to collaborate with Kylie, was one of the first A-listers to react to the news.
"This is everything," she commented.
Girls Aloud's Kimberly Walsh also shared her excitement, writing, "Arrrghhhhhhhh! Amazing" in response to the teaser.
