Julia Roberts warns new romcom with George Clooney will 'probably be terrible' in refreshingly honest interview
Julia Roberts and George Clooney play divorced parents on an overseas mission in the 2022 romantic comedy, Ticket to Paradise
Julia Roberts has shared her candid thoughts on her new movie with George Clooney, joking that the romantic comedy will be 'probably be terrible' in a new interview.
The Oscar-winning actress didn't mince her words when asked about her upcoming film, Ticket to Paradise, admitting that she doesn't have faith that the 2022 rom-com will be a major success.
Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month, Julia shared her experiences of what it was like working alongside George Clooney on the American flick - as well as some surprising predictions about its reception.
"It is a romantic comedy. He [George] plays my ex-husband," the Pretty Woman star explained. "I think it’s so funny and George is so funny and George and I together, it’s probably going to be terrible because there’s too much potential for it to be great, it’ll just implode on it itself."
Rather than backtrack or correct herself, Julia buckled down on her blunt confession and suggested, "I think that should be the commercial for the movie: “It’s probably going to be terrible.
"I’m so glad my publicist is on a plane right now," she then quipped, realizing the promotional tagline probably wouldn't go down too well with Ticket to Paradise's executives.
The hilarious comments, which have only piqued our interest in seeing the movie, come just a month after the reasons for Julia's romcom break were revealed.

Ticket to Paradise isn't the first time Julia and George, 61, have worked together on the silver screen.
The Hollywood heavyweights share a litany of credits, having already co-starred in films like Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Eleven, and Money Monster. In Ticket To Paradise, Julia and George play divorced parents who travel to Bali to stop their daughter (Kaitlyn Dever) from marrying a local man she barely knows. The plot sees the former couple struggle to tolerate each other and seek common ground on the long trip overseas, after never fully recovering from the collapse of their own nuptials.
Ticket to Paradise will hit cinemas on September 30, 2022 in the UK and October 21, 2022 in the US.
