JLo's Shotgun Wedding is the adorable rom-com we've been waiting for
Shotgun Wedding stars Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel as newlyweds whose celebration is interrupted when the whole wedding party gets taken hostage
It’s officially rom-com season.
While we patiently wait for the release of Ticket to Paradise, the new Julia Roberts and George Clooney romcom, later this month, the movie industry has treated us to the trailer of JLo's latest romantic flick: Shotgun Wedding.
Although Jennifer Lopez is married to Ben Affleck in real life, the star is seen preparing to wed Josh Duhamel in their new movie, set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 27, 2023.
In the film, Jennifer takes on the role of Darcy opposite Josh's Tom (Armie Hammer was originally set to star in the production but, as a new docuseries reveals, the actor has been basically shunned from Hollywood following 'dark, twisted secrets'). The couple plans a destination wedding that is eventually interrupted when the entire wedding party gets taken hostage. You read that right.
Expect the duo to throw grenades, fire shotguns, go zip-lining and use a scary cake knife as a weapon throughout the movie - all the while donning their wedding clothes.
Directed by Jason Moore, the film stars a pretty incredible cast that includes Jennifer Coolidge as Tom's mother, Lenny Kravitz as Darcy's ex, Cheech Marin, D'Arcy Carden, Sonia Brada and Desmin Borger, among others.
But JLo isn’t the only cast member who can draw on her recent nuptials for inspiration: Josh himself married his girlfriend Audra Mari, Miss World America, only last month. Congratulations all around!

While discussing the filming of the flick in the Dominican Republic on the Tonight Show back in May 2021, Josh also hilariously revealed some fun episodes from the set.
"The waves were crashing like 30 feet in the air," the actor said to the host. "This rogue wave comes up as I'm videotaping this thing and literally washed me almost over the edge of this cliff." Clearly, art imitates life.
If Jennifer's resume is of any indication, we're in for a fun time at the movies. Earlier this year, she starred in the beloved romantic comedy-drama Marry Me alongside Owen Wilson. Her rom-com roster includes 2018's Second Act, The Back-Up Plan from 2010, Monster-in-Law with the wonderful Jane Fonda, the classic Maid in Manhattan, and, of course, The Wedding Planner.
