Jennifer Garner has opened up in a new interview as she reveals she 'basically had a wedding' for herself.

In April of 2022, Jennifer Garner turned 50 and called the age 'empowering' as she looked forward to marking this milestone age. In the same month, her ex-husband and father of her three children revealed that he would be marrying again.

While the couple had been apart for some time, the fact that Ben Affleck was returning to his former fiancee, Jennifer Lopez, and the pair were finally finishing the engagement they began more than two decades before, was a shocking twist in this very public romantic triangle.

As Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck start their marriage, in a new interview, Jennifer Garner has reflected on the exciting changes in her life and the incredible way she has thrown herself into philanthropic work.

In an interview with Town and Country, Jennifer spoke about her philanthropic work with Save the Children and her personal milestones as she celebrated a milestone birthday.

On April 8, 2022, it was announced that Jennifer Lopez was engaged to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's engagement ring became one of the most talked about engagement rings of all time. In the same month and just 9 days later, Jennifer Garner turned 50. In celebration of this milestone, the star revealed that she decided to have a huge party for herself and celebrate this event.

"I basically had a wedding for myself,” she told Town and Country "I was so shocked that I was doing it." Her birthday fell on Easter weekend and snowballed into an all out party after she invited her parents and close family and then friends and more friends. The actor said that this was rather out of character for her, which explains her shock at the scale of the events.

The star also revealed that there was a charitable theme to her splashy party. Town and Country revealed, "she asked her guests to fill 5,000 backpacks each with enough food to feed a family of four for a program called Blessings in a Backpack."

Also in the interview, Jennifer admitted that although she has an image of being a 'nice' girl in Hollywood, she too can have a 'salty' side.

"I have no reason not to be nice. My life is lovely." But, she says, "I’m not always just nice. I can also be salty, and I can be taciturn, or I can be really serious about what I want to get done. It’s not that I feel I’m underestimated in that way—I’m not afraid to stand up for myself and say, ‘Just so you know, this isn’t going to fly with me.’ When that happens, I don’t want you to be shocked that I’m a real person."

The star is continuing to balance her charitable work with her acting career and is set to star in an upcoming Apple TV miniseries titled The Last Thing He Told Me.
