Plot of Only Murders in the Building
The premise of this new 10-part comedy series follows a classic murder mystery story with some quirky differences. Martin Short and Steve Martin star as two wannabe sleuths who begin a podcast about their building when they discover that one of their neighbors has been murdered.
The geriatric duo then recruits Selena Gomez to join their investigation and the trio of true crime enthusiasts begins to uncover the dark secrets that the building and its tenants hold.

Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez head up the cast for this comedy murder series. Martin plays Oliver Putnam a Broadway producer with dwindling finances. Steve plays Charles-Haden Savage a former celebrity and TV detective and Selena Gomex plays Mabel Mora a well of 20-something with a mysterious background.
Other lead members of the cast are Aaron Dominguez (Shaft) who plays Oscar Torres, and Amy Ryan (The Office, The Wire) who plays Jan.

The cast also features other familiar actors including Tina Fey and Maulik Pancholy, Vanessa Aspillaga as Ursula, Julian Cihi as Tim Kono, and Ryan Broussard as Will Putnam.
Sting also makes a brief cameo in the trailer, but it is unclear how prominent his role in the series will be.
