Here is why Ashley Graham just asked everyone to flood social media with 'fat positivity' photos
Model Ashley Graham just clapped back at a Twitter user that criticized her body in the most amazing way
Ashley Graham has always been outspoken about body positivity but the 35-year-old model just took things a step further by asking her followers to flood social media with "fat positivity" photos of themselves following comments by a critic.
The saga started earlier this week, when one Sameera Khan posted two pictures of Ashley, whose fans recently praised her new unretouched cover shoot, wearing a short metallic dress with open sides. The photos were attached to a tweet that read, "The fat positivity movement is getting out of hand."
Clearly attacking Ashley’s comfort with her own body, the Twitter user has since deleted her post.
In response to the body shaming, Ashley, who famously showed off her "new tummy" three months after giving birth to her twins, posted a photo of herself wearing the same dress as the one shown in Sameera's pictures and looking absolutely fabulous. In the image, she is winking at the camera in what appears to be a knowing way. The caption to the post reads, "Quote tweet this with a photo of you taking 'fat positivity' too far. I'll start."

The social media platform was then flooded with inspiring images by all sorts of users, directly relating to the message by the mother of three.
Among the over 4,000 quoted replies was one by a follower commenting on society as a whole. "I conquered 2 fears this day," reads the message, which was accompanied by an image of them wearing a crop top. "This was my first time ever wearing a crop top and I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge."
Someone else shared a picture of themselves in a bikini with the caption, "I probably take it too far every time I wear a biking, oops 🤷♀️ guess it’s good for the sunscreen industry [though]."

Yet another praised the results of Ashley's call to action, writing, "This thread is the best place I've ever been, I love everyone loving themselves... rolls are the best part of a meal anyway".
In addition to her incredibly successful career, Ashley is known for her outspokenness about a vast variety of topics that are usually considered taboo.
For example, in the past, the model has gone on the record about public breastfeeding. "I'm not going to apologize for feeding my child," she said in a TikTok video. "Also, my boobs hurt if I don't."
In the video, the model actually unlatches her nursing top, as if she were about to feed her twin boys—Roman and Malachi (her and husband Justin Ervin are also parents to big brother Isaac). Instead of breastfeeding on camera, though, she starts lip syncing to the joking words: "Prepare to be sick of me!"
She has also joked about postpartum hair loss. Back in 2021, she jokingly compared herself to a "Bond villain" as her hair continued to grow out post pregnancy-related hair loss. "I may not be a bond girl, but I can be a bond villain (postpartum baby hairs come through!!!)," she wrote on social media as a caption to an image of herself next to Elvis from the James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
Keep on speaking your mind, Ashley!
