We cannot wait for the new instalment!
If you don’t want any Call the Midwife secrets look away now.
Because one of the show’s major stars has spoken about the highly-anticipated Christmas special.
Helen George, who has played Trixie Franklin in the BBC period drama since it started back in 2012, has revealed behind-the-scenes secrets from the show.
Appearing on This Morning to discuss the show with regular presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, the star even let slip a couple of little details about what happens in the Christmas special that’s coming up.
“There’s some babies!” she joked to Phil and Holly. “And I have some scenes with a cow!”
The star also opened up about the setting of this year’s festive instalment, telling the presenting duo that the cast headed to the Outer Hebrides to film it.

“It was beautiful because we got to film there for four weeks and it’s such a stunning place.
“It becomes a character in itself,” she continued about the gorgeous outdoor setting, “it’s so cinematic, and it was really cold. Because the surroundings are just so beautiful that you don’t want to ignore it!”
Speaking about why she thinks the show is so successful, Helen continued, “The writing is still really good and there’s loads of subjects… I think it holds a mirror up to society.
“Then there’s the nostalgia element. There’s all these hard-hitting issues but they’re wrapped up in the lovely, warm, cosy Sunday night drama that I think people quite enjoy.”
The actress also opened up on her cast mates, revealing that one of her fellow stars even has a rather odd ritual that she undergoes everyday.
Speaking about actress Miriam Margolyes, who plays Mother Mildred in the show, Helen said, “Miriam is a scream. She’s so much fun, she’s got the most disgusting potty mouth I’ve ever heard.”
She then revealed that Miriam has a slightly unusual habit when it comes to her morning meal, saying, “And she eats a raw onion every morning for breakfast.”
Phil and Holly couldn’t believe what they were hearing, responding, “Does she really?” and “No she doesn’t! Does she? How did we not know this?”.
Curious about the star’s start to the working day, Holly asked, “And how is that to work with someone who’s just had a raw onion for breakfast?”
Helen joked back to the host, responding, “Well I don’t get that close to her after breakfast, I keep my distance.”
