Carol Vorderman and Tom Cruise looked fantastic in a throwback photo as the pair showed their more adventurous side by racing cars
Carol Vorderman and Tom Cruise looked like a dynamic duo in a throwback photograph posted by the mathematician as the pair raced cars at Goodwood.
In anticipation of the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick, Carol Vorderman shared an old photograph of herself with the star of the franchise, Tom Cruise. The former Countdown star joked that they were 'MAVERICK and MATH-ERICK' as they raced cars at Goodwood racecourses and had 'the best time.

Carol added that she is attending the Top Gun: Maverick premiere in London on Thursday, May 19, 2022. In anticipation of the premiere, Carol shared an image of herself in a flying suit and revealed that although she wouldn't be wearing this on the red carpet, being a pilot is something that is close to her heart.
"Strictly speaking it should be a gown on the red carpet tonight but this is my little homage to the original Top Gun and to my passion for aviation. #pilot," said Carol in the post.

The star then revealed that she always wanted to be a pilot growing up, but because of sexism in the industry, she was unable to get a license until she was much older.
"You know the ONLY thing I ever wanted to be growing up and probably since....is a fighter pilot. I was born 20 years too early, they didn't take women pilots in the military in my day 😢😢 but I got my licences in my 50s which closed a happy circle. ❤️." She added, "So tonight isn't just a red carpet or a movie for me. It's much more meaningful I guess."

Carol then concluded with a sweet Top Gun joke as she played on the well-known catchphrase, 'I feel the need, the need for speed.' Carol said, "I feel the need....the need....to say thank you 🙏🏻❤️💙 #topgun #pilot."
