Eamonn Holmes announces he’s going to be a granddad

Eamonn Holmes revealed to fans that he is set to become a grandad as his son's wife is pregnant

 Eamonn Holmes presented This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford and announced that he is set to become a grandfather. 

Eammon teased fans in the morning at revealed that he had a big announcement to make at 11 am. He told fans, “I don't want you all in tears ... I just want you to be happy,” in a mysterious message that confused a lot of viewers. He also teased fans on Twitter and said in a post, "Can u keep a secret?" he then said, "I hope you will be happy for me because I am over the Moon. It's even, for the moment, made me forget my Chronic Pain- yes it's that good."

Fans were on tenterhooks and many questioned what this big news might be. Some fans thought that he might be leaving the show while others were concerned about his health. One fan said, “Just hope Eamonn is ok. Will miss him if he leaves tv. Miss Eamonn and Ruth on Fridays. It’s lovely seeing them over Easter holiday.”

Thankfully it wasn't bad news at all! Eamonn revealed that his son Declan is expecting a child with his wife Jenny, which means that soon Eamonn will soon become a Grandad! 

Eamonn showed an image of his son Declan and his wife and said, "They have just announced that I, together with Valerie and Robin, Jenny's mum and dad and Gabrielle, Declan's mummy - we are all going to be grandparents." He joked that he was too young and said, "Can you seriously believe I am going to be a Grandpa?"

Eamonn said to his son "Thank you for bringing so much joy and happiness into our lives at this miserable time." Ruth, who will be a step-grandmother, agreed and said, "Declan and Jenny we are so so happy for you, lots of love to you, it's amazing."

Eamonn’s son Declan is from his previous marriage to Gabrielle Holmes. The couple have three children together named Declan, Rebecca, and Niall who are all in their late twenties and early thirties. The couple divorced in 2005. Eamonn is now married to Ruth Langsford and the two share a son named Jack who is 19. 

Fans are very excited for Eamonn and many took to social media to congratulate the presenter. One fan said, “Many congratulations, what wonderful happy news, something to look forward to Papa xxx.” Another viewer said, “Congratulations @EamonnHolmes and the family! I'm glad you're not leaving! #ThisMorning.”
