Droll - Wordle fans are angered by streak-killing word

The word 'droll' has proved a difficult challenge for some wordle players who struggled to work out this latest challenge

The word 'droll' has caused frustration and even anger from some Wordle players as fans of the online word game complain that this word was too uncommon for a wordle challenge.

Even players who use the best wordle starter words and have a few wordle tricks up their sleeve can struggle to solve some of the complicated and unfamiliar words that crop up on the online word game.

Words such as brink,  awful, and homer, are all words that have caused confusion in the past, and a recent wordle was much like this. Be warned, spoilers are ahead!

The answer for Wordle 374 on Tuesday, June 28 was 'droll'. Many fans loathed this word and could not work out this wordle puzzle.

"WHAT THE F**K I WAS JUST SH**TING AROUND TYPING IN DROLE BUT I ACTUALLY GOT THE WORD, I DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT WORD EXISTS. WHAT THE HELL IS A DROLE AND A DROLL??? THIS IS INSANE Wordle 374 3/6," said one frustrated fan.

"Wordle 374 X/6 Failed today cause I never heard the word! Perils of being a non-native speaker!" said one player who blamed their vocabulary.

"Wordle 374 X/6 Your thoughts & prayer are appreciated at this difficult time. I will be taking some time to consider my options. I won’t be making any further public comment," said another dramatic player who failed to solve this puzzle.

Many also took to social media to complain about the complexity of this word and labeled the recent challenge as a streak killer.

"Nooooooo! Lost my streak! Wordle 374 X/6," said one distraught player. "The streak of 109 in a row comes to an end Wordle 374 X/6," added another player who ruined a very impressive win streak.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO My streak Send flowers and chocolate. I’m heartbroken. Wordle 374 X/6," said another.
