Chrissy Teigen and John Legend expecting a baby almost two years after losing son Jack

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are expecting another baby together almost two years after the loss of their son Jack in September 2020. 

Back in February Chrissy Teigen revealed she was going through IVF and that she and John were looking into growing their family. Now six months later the star has now confirmed that she’s pregnant. Taking to social media, Chrissy shared the wonderful news with her millions of fans as she explained that “joy has filled” her and John’s hearts and home again.

“The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way,” she said, before getting candid about how “nervous” she was over deciding when the right time to reveal her pregnancy news was. 

Chrissy wrote, “Every appointment I’ve said to myself, “ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce” but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still.”

In a heartbreaking moment, the proud mom reflected that following the loss of her and John Legend’s son Jack in September 2020, her experience of each appointment is filled with “nerves”.

“I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing,” she bravely declared. “Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”

Fans and celebrities alike were quick to express their delight at Chrissy and John’s baby news, with actor Kate Hudson writing, “Beautiful news ❤️”. 

“What welcome, happy news! ♥️♥️♥️”, commented Jennifer Garner, echoing this sentiment. 

Sharon Stone declared simply, “Best wishes honey 😍”.

Chrissy and John are devoted parents to daughter Luna (6) and sons Miles (4) and were left devastated in September 2020 when they experienced pregnancy loss with their second son whom they named Jack. At the time, Chrissy was open about their family’s tragedy and spoke powerfully about the heartbreak of Jack’s loss around the 20th week of pregnancy and this is something John Legend praised Chrissy for. 

In November 2020, just two months after losing their son, Chrissy and John spoke out together for the first time about Jack. Discussing her decision to share heartbreaking pictures of herself and John grief-stricken at the hospital, Chrissy told Good Morning America that she hoped to show other people going through similar losses that they’re not alone.

"I don't care if you were offended or disgusted,” she said. “I understand it can be that way for people, but it was designed for the people that were hurting."

She revealed that she’d received thousands of letters and John explained it meant a lot to people as he added, “Chrissy felt… that one of the ways we would carry on Jack’s memory was taking pictures of that moment.”

Now almost two years later Chrissy is pregnant again and despite her self-confessed “nerves” her declaration that she’s feeling “hopeful and amazing” is truly heart-warming as fans flood her with sweet messages of support and congratulations.
