Britney Spears' wedding dress is a custom made Versace for upcoming marriage to Sam Asghari

Britney Spears' wedding dress plans are moving forward—the pop star revealed that her gown will be designed by the one-and-only Donatella Versace.

Although news regarding Britney's freedom from her conservatorship have dominated headlines in the last few weeks, it seems like better days are on the horizon for the superstar, who announced her engagement to personal trainer Sam Asghari just two months ago.

This week, Britney posted a series of pictures of herself in a semi-sheer pink evening gown on Instagram, simultaneously revealing details regarding her dream wedding dress. 

"No... this is not my wedding dress bahahah!!!!," reads the caption accompanying the images. "Donatella Versace is making my dress as we speak....Have a good night folks!!!!"

The pairing is certainly not a surprising one as the designer has been creating custom clothes for the pop star for decades, dressing her for public appearances and even her very own music videos.

Back in May, the Italian designer posted a throwback picture of her and Britney during the brand's 2002 fashion show in Milan. "I'll never forget when you came and stayed with me Britney," reads the caption. "You were and will always be magical!!!" 

Although we now know more about the dress she’ll don when tying the knot, specific details about Britney’s wedding’s location and date are still under wraps. 

In October, the pop star told fans on TikTok that she still didn't know where her and Sam would be getting married. "We don’t know if we're going to get married in Italy, or Greece, Australia, or New York City," she said. Wherever the festivities will take place, they are sure to be memorable, star-studded ones. 

The couple, who met on the October 2016 set of her music video "Slumber Party," got engaged this past September after over five years together. Sam proposed with a custom ring by Roman Malayev boasting his nickname for Britney, "Lioness." 

This will be Britney's third wedding. In 2004, she married her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas but the marriage was annulled after a mere 55 hours. That same year, she wedded TV personality, model, DJ and actor Kevin Federline. The couple had two kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, before divorcing in 2007.
