Alex Jones shares emotional parenting moment following baby Kit's birth

The One Show presenter Alex Jones reveals she misses having husband Charlie at home with the family, following the birth of their son.

The 42-year-old gave birth to their second child Kit last month, and took to Instagram to reveal that Charlie’s paternity leave is already over, and he has already returned to work.

She shared a photo of her husband looking down at Kit with the caption'Paternity leave is over in a flash 😩 We miss having Daddy at home. 💔 The last few weeks have been bliss though.'

Alex’s followers offered support over the a very relatable issue - which is something we’re sure many parents have experienced.

'That first day is always a shock to the system but you WILL get through it 🙌🏻💖', one user assured her.

Another sympathised as she was going through the same thing, 'Same here today. Hubby is back to back today. Wish you all the best with your beautiful family ❤️'.

Earlier this month, Alex announced the birth of her son during a live episode of The One Show. She told viewers the exciting news during a phone call with co-star Matt Baker and stand-in host Angellica Bell.

She also shared an adorable photo of her and newborn Kit, where he had his hand wrapped around her finger, on her Instagram. In her caption, she praised the NHS and all the staff who had helped her during the birth.

Alex wrote, 'And then there were 4!!!

'Little kit Thomson arrived safely and very speedily last Monday at 2.21am weighing a healthy 7lbs 3. Teddy, Charlie and I are absolutely besotted by baby brother and are enjoying this special time as we get used to being a foursome and generally breathing in that lovely newborn smell!!! A huge thank you to the midwives at the birth centre, Queen Charlotte Hospital for everything you did for us. #nhsheroes'

Despite Charlie being back at work, the couple definitely made the most of time together as a family. They even took Kit to an unexpected place for his first outing.
