Does Tully have a baby in Firefly Lane?
Things haven't been easy for our favorite heroine
Tully in Firefly Lane is definitely one of the most talked-about characters on screen right now - especially after *that* cliffhanger ending.
Her decades-long friendship with Kate was forged in childhood following a traumatic incident. But it’s throughout their adult years that their close bond really developed - and not always in the way we’d hoped. Those who have yet to reach the Netflix drama's finale might not know exactly what shocking revelations lie in store after *that* funeral during the Firefly Lane ending, whilst others may be more than a little surprised at the direction Tully and Kate’s friendship has gone.
It looks like we will just have to keep our fingers crossed for Netflix to confirm a Firefly Lane season 2. But whilst the finale definitely raised some pretty dramatic questions, there are some more that we might just have the answers to. Fans will have seen Tully (played by Katherine Heigl) experience a number of different relationships throughout season 1.
So it’s no surprise that it’s got some viewers wondering - does Tully have a baby in Firefly Lane?
Warning: spoilers ahead!
Does Tully have a miscarriage in Firefly Lane?
Best friends they may be, but in the Netflix adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s brilliant book, Tully hit it off with Kate’s husband Johnny before he and her friend got together. Their one-night stand ended in nothing, however, and viewers saw Kate and Johnny go on to marry.

Tully herself went on to meet Max and it was his child that she found herself pregnant with. Shocked to discover the news, Tully wasn’t initially sure about motherhood. Her own childhood hadn’t exactly been easy, with her mother Cloud generally avoiding parental responsibilities, leaving Tully with a lot resting on her shoulders.

But after consulting her mother, Tully eventually decided to go ahead with the pregnancy. In the series, Tully and Max got married, but whilst viewers may have initially been delighted at the direction Tully’s journey looked to be headed, they - and she - were soon destined for heartbreak.
After contracting an infection, Tully miscarried her baby. In the aftermath of this devastation, she and Max’s relationship struggled to move past their loss.
Whilst Tully hoped to work at their marriage after first considering getting an annulment, Max ultimately decided he didn't feel the same way.

Does Tully have a baby in the Firefly Lane book?
This turn of events is undeniably tragic, though fans of Firefly Lane might hold out some hope for Tully if a second season is confirmed. Max was a character created especially for the show and so if the adaptation decides to further forge its own path away from the source material, a child could be possible for Tully in the future.
In the book, however, this is sadly not the case, and Kate is the only one to have a daughter, Marah, with her husband, Johnny. In Kristin Hannah’s book, it is Kate’s position as a parent that indirectly plays into the falling out between her and Tully.
