Cardi B is spending serious money on Covid tests
The WAP rapper has revealed that she and her team get Covid tested four times a week.
Cardi B's strategy to staying safe during the pandemic is racking up some serious bills.
The "WAP" singer set Twitter alight on Wednesday, writing, “I get Covid tested bout 4 times a week.” Cardi also revealed that her entire team, including her glam squad and management, is regularly tested. With the rap star’s commitment to her work, she feels she has no other option but to fork over the money.
“Every time we get tested is about 250$ each. This is seriously a new business."

Cardi’s vigilant attitude towards the threat of Covid-19 may have developed after the singer was criticized for failing to observe social distancing guidelines last fall. Social media blasted her for her Thanksgiving celebration, which hosted 37 people despite guidance from the CDC and to avoid mixing with other households or large groups over the holidays.
Cardi hadn’t initially seen the problem with the party, sharing the festivities with her 16.7m Twitter followers. It was only after the intense backlash that she was forced to address the matter and apologize.

“Sorry my bad wasn’t trying to make nobody feel bad. I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good & uplifted me. I spent soo much money getting every1 tested but it felt worth it. I wasnt trying to offend no1,” she said.

While Cardi’s hasn’t exactly helped her public image, the rap icon has done her fair share of charity during lockdown. The down-to-earth philanthropist teamed up with Fashion Nova in April to help struggling families, donating $1 million in total to those affected by the pandemic. She also slammed politicians for spreading misinformation about the virus, calling out their contradictory messages.

“The people that was elected said we will be able to go to church by Easter even tho mayors are saying other wise,” she said on Twitter, in response to a user who told her to ‘sit down and be quiet.’
Cardi’s most recent update on her Covid-19 avoidance plan has been met with mixed reactions online. Some Twitter users felt she was being ungrateful by complaining about the cost, an accusation Cardi quickly disputed.
“Well this tweet is not about complaining is about CAPITALISM!” she replied.
The singer claims she was merely criticizing the monetization of a life-saving test. “How Covid is becoming a business and if this was part of the plan.”
