For those who have yet to dive into the addictive Behind Her Eyes plot, it follows single mother Louise as she becomes involved with psychiatrist David, only to befriend his wife Adele. Louise is drawn into the couple’s lives, but she soon starts to question whether things are as they seem.
With scenes from the past becoming increasingly important to shed light on sinister events, the variety of settings on show in the Netflix adaptation certainly adds to Behind Her Eyes’ storytelling power.
But when it comes to where Behind Her Eyes was filmed, the variety of real-life locations might just surprise you…
Where was Behind Her Eyes filmed?
Present Day Locations
Fans of the Behind Her Eyes locations may be intrigued to discover that the majority of scenes set in the present day were filmed in a variety of London locations, including some instantly recognizable ones like Hampstead Heath and Camden Market. According to Condé Nast Traveller, many scenes were filmed in the North London borough of Islington in particular.
They report that Louise’s home is in fact the desirable Aubert Court in Highbury, a mid-century development that has distinctive semi-circular terraces. When it comes to the iconic scene of Louise and David’s first meeting, this was reportedly filmed at Clerkenwell Grind, a restaurant in East London that transforms at night into a club-bar.

Adele's Family Home
Scenes from Adele’s past were filmed in Scotland and the real-life location used as a stand-in for Adele's family home is certainly impressive. As reported by Marie Claire, Adele’s huge family estate is actually the real-life historic Ardkinglas House in Argyll.
Located on the shores of Loch Fyne, this stunning 4800-hectare estate was established at the end of the 14th century. With its ancient history, it’s no surprise that it acted as the perfect impressive backdrop as viewers journeyed into the supposedly perfect Adele’s backstory.
David's Seaside Past
And the series also travelled out of London to show us an intriguing glimpse into David’s past in Brighton, Sussex, too. A suspicious Louise takes a trip to the south coast, walking along the seafront before visiting a cafe, which was filmed at Cosiez on Upper St James’s Street, according to Condé Nast Traveller.
It was deep in the Sussex countryside that the production team is thought to have filmed the panoramic sequence that fans will recognize from the Behind Her Eyes ending.
If the excitement over the show’s twist hasn’t encouraged you to watch yet, then maybe the stunning Behind Her Eyes locations will.
Just prepare yourself for *that* ending...
