Meet Amazon's Climate Pledge Friendly page, the retail giant's latest storefront for helping shoppers discover more sustainable products and brands. 

Co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019, Amazon's Climate Pledge requires participating companies to be net-zero carbon across their businesses by 2020 — an effort that will offset carbon footprint and bolster sustainability as common practice.

To further this environmental initiative, Amazon has partnered with credible third-party certifications to develop it's own known as Compact by Design, which sets forth rigorous standards for brands to follow. 

The qualification criteria for Amazon's Climate Pledge is exhaustive. In short, products included in Amazon's Climate Pledge must be responsibly manufactured with safer chemicals and fewer energy-draining resources, reduce their carbon footprint year after year, and be able to diminish their environmental impact of one or more stages of their lifecycle.

To ensure ecological integrity, products qualified for Amazon's Climate Pledge must also adopt fair trade practices in their supply chain, support responsible forestry, be tested for toxic substances and made in safe workplaces, and use materials from recycled content. The list is endless, but we're certainly not complaining.
