It's the most slumberful of the year

When Christmas rolls around, the first thing that I unpack is my cheery Christmas bedding. Tucking up in some tartan sheets or a whimsical winter scene is all part of the festive spirit — to help take some of the stress out of Christmas, I've found the cosiest options out there for you.

Lots of brands claim to make the best Christmas bedding, but your signature festive sheets will be different from your neighbour's, your friend's, and your mother-in-law's too — not that you'll ever get a peep at them. Some people go for rich holiday reds and deep greens whilst others prefer fleecy snow whites and sparkling gold accents. Whatever you opt for, they should be a change from your normal bed sheets and more like your Christmas pyjamas.

I've been through all the Christmas bedding that's on the market this year, to help you with your Christmas decorating ideas. I've got budget sets, cosy cotton sets, textured fluffy sets and more. There are even some cosy throws and complementary pillows at the bottom of the page, if you want some help with classic Christmas decorations too.

Next Christmas Bedding Set

I had to include this set, because I think it looks so cosy! This is the Next Fleece Duvet and it's on my wish list for Christmas, just saying.

These are the twelve best Christmas bedding sets on the market right now. Some of them are subtle, like Piglet In Bed's Berry Gingham Collection and others are a little more obviously festive. I've always prioritised quality, maintenance, and, of course, Christmas style.

If you want to make your bedroom or lounge a little more Christmassy, adding some festive throws and pillows can make a big difference. Almost all the brands in this list have their own, extended Christmas bedding collections that include lots of accessories, but here are my favourites.

FAQs

What material is best for winter bedding?

Cotton, especially flannel, is perfect for sleeping in over the winter. You can get thick sheets to keep you cosy, but cotton is also naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, which looks after your skin while you sleep.

Is Christmas bedding worth getting?

If you want to add a touch of Christmas to your bedroom, Christmas bedding makes for a great investment. It sounds like a small change to make, but the difference that it'll add to your room is surprisingly vast.

When can I put my Christmas bedding out?

I already have my Christmas bedding out, but that's because I'm a bit Christmas crazy. Lots of people wait until the end of November or the beginning of December. Just know, if you want to change it now, you aren't alone.

Who makes the best Christmas bedding?

All of the brands that I've featured above make good Christmas bedding. I'd normally always opt for cotton sheets, because they're gentle against your skin. However, I think it's okay to opt for cotton or polycotton when you're investing in festive sheets, since they'll be cheaper and lower maintenance than your other sheets.

These Christmas bedding sets are the ones that I would (and will be) buy for friends, family, and as gifts. If you haven't got any Christmas bedding yet, you're in for a real treat.
