Selfridges new dreamy confectionery hall is a must-visit destination if you have a sweet tooth
After a year in the making Selfridges’ have unveiled a brand new confectionery hall featuring fun give-aways, 6 chocolate counters and the largest selection of loose vegan chocolates in the UK.
Roll up roll up with over 1500 sweets and chocolates to pick from you will be spoilt for choice! There are a total of six loose chocolate counters from big names such as Neuhaus and Charbonnel et Walker. At the Godiva counter you can gaze on as chocolatiers dip mouth wateringly delicious fresh strawberries in milk and dark chocolate to order.
As well as this Selfridges now boast the UK’s largest array of loose vegan chocolates available at the ‘Vegan Chocolatier’. There are over 20 handmade chocolates to choose from created by Be Chocolat and the internationally renowned master chocolatier Michel Clement. Options include an almond praline square dipped in chocolate, truffles with pure peanut butter, praline and vegan caramel and a coconut bar with honeycomb rock dipped in dark chocolate.
It’s not all about the loose chocolate, there will also be a selection of 26 advent calendars to admire as well as a pastel coloured display featuring all your favourites sweets from classic to traditional as well as vegan, American and Jelly Belly.
Once you have chosen your goodies try your luck at Selfridge’s brand new light-up ‘Flavour Funfair’ where you can win sweet prizes. Hit the enticing big red button and watch as a prize whizzes down the helter-skelter. Over the Halloween period the department store is collaborating with Jelly Belly to offer customers the opportunity to win delicious flavours, or less lucky shoppers get bean boozled (weird and wild flavours) jelly beans. After Halloween the ‘Flavour Funfair’ kiosk will host partnerships with other brands each with a unique give-away.
The ‘Flavour Funfair’ is located on the Lower Ground Floor in the iconic Oxford Street store. You can also collect a Halloween map to guide you around all the sweet delights that the new confectionery hall has to offer.
If the confectionery hall can’t satisfy your sweet tooth you could always pop up to the fourth floor and get your teeth into an FAO Schwarz iconic 2lb Giant Gummy Bear and see the new pick ‘n’ mix train of FAO Schweetz.

While you’re visiting don’t miss out on window shopping, the iconic department store has also recently unveiled its Christmas window displays.

Rose completed a degree in Art at Goldsmiths University before beginning her career in the restaurant industry as a commis chef at The Delaunay in 2015. She then worked at Zedel and went on to become part of the team that opened Islington’s popular Bellanger restaurant.
To hone her patissier skills, Rose joined the Diplome de Patisserie and Culinary Management course at Le Cordon Bleu. She ran a food market in Islington and cooked for a catering company that used only surplus food to supply events, before finding her way into publishing and food styling.
