Mindy Kaling takes style notes from Kate Middleton with stunning pussy-bow detailing

It’s official: funny woman Mindy Kaling is a style icon.

In a new Instagram post, Mindy, who has been showing off her weight loss journey, looked absolutely fabulous in a short black dress with a big white bow in the front reminiscent of the sorts of styles that Kate Middleton often wears.

Mindy paired her dress with a pair of black heels worn over sheer black stockings. 

Her beauty game was, as usual, on point as well: the 43-year-old actor wore her hair down, parted to the side, with a smokey eye and a gorgeous bordeaux lip. She looked incredible. 

The photo dump that the mother-of-two posted included snaps of Mindy while visiting New York. In addition to the above-mentioned shots, which showcased her look while appearing on Good Morning America, the upload included Mindy's appearance on The View (where she wore a gorgeous leopard dress with similar hair and makeup) and a third guest spot on The Drew Barrymore Show. 

In the last number of photos, Mindy wore a striking pinkish-reddish pantsuit set with, once once, similar makeup and hair styles. She finished off that last outfit with a pair of see-through stilettos. A fashion icon indeed!

Mindy was in town to promote a number of exciting different projects, which she mentioned in the caption of her Instagram post as well. First of all, the second season of her hilarious and beloved show The Sex Lives of College Girls is currently streaming on HBO Max. Created and produced by Mindy, the series follows the lives of four college roommates in the fictional Essex College in Vermont.

Mindy has also been talking about her relatively new imprint at Amazon Publishing, Mindy's Book Studio. Back in June, the star announced the first acquisitions for her project: The Vibrant Years by Sonali Dev and I'll Stop the World by Lauren Thoman. 

The former features an introduction by Mindy herself and tells the story of 65-year-old Bindu Desai, who inherits a million dollars right as her life seems to spiral out of control and she decides to purchase a condo in a post retirement community in Florida. 

I'll Stop the World, on the other hand, won't be released until April 1, 2023, and it'll look at the life of Justin Warren as he delves into the suspicious and unsolved deaths of his grandparents nearly 40 years prior. 

In addition to the slew of professional projects that Mindy is currently juggling, she's got her hands full in her private life as well. In December of 2017, she gave birth to her daughter Katherine Swati. A few years later, in September of 2020, she had her son Spencer Avu. 

As chronicled since her first pregnancy, Mindy has until now declined to reveal the identity of her kids' biological father - but she has recently taken fans behind the scenes with a number of rare photos depicting her in the midst of motherhood. In August of 2019, she posted a picture of her and her daughter's feet wearing matching glitter shoes. After that, in October of 2020, she shared a snap of her and Katherine cuddling on the couch while encouraging her followers to go out and rock the vote.

As curious as we are about Mindy as a mother, we appreciate the fact that some things are to be kept private.
