Kimono Jackets: How To Wear The Trend
A jacket that covers a multitude of sins and creates the perfect hourglass shape, the kimono is our new hero buy! Click for our pick of the best
There's a new trend that has slowly made its way onto our radar this season - and it's one that absolutely anyone can wear. Comfortable, versatile and always flattering, your spring/summer wardrobe is in need of a kimono jacket!
Banish all thoughts of bulky jackets that pile on the pounds - the kimono is your figure-flattering saviour. Shops are awash with belted versions that will give you the waist you've always dreamed of, whilst a longer length and wide sleeves leave you feeling covered without the extra padding some jackets can give.
So how do you wear this trend? The answer is simple: with just about anything! The important thing to remember is that the kimono is a perfect layering jacket, and will look great with the majority of your exisiting wardrobe. Wear it as you would a casual cardigan, with casual trousers, jeans and even trainers - or be adventurous and add a casual edge to an evening outfit by draping it over your shoulders.
This neutral offering from Wallis is a great way to ease yourself into the trend. It looks great with smart trousers or skirts for work, but it will look just as fabulous worn unbelted and layered over denim at the weekend.
Forget adapting your winter coat for warmer days, or shivering in a cardigan that just doesn't cover you up enough in the unpredictable British weather. Make the kimono jacket your hero piece of the season, paired with comfy footwear and fluid shapes, and give everyone a class in spring dressing.
