Store giant John Lewis has launched six new fitness brands into their new ‘athleisure’ concept zone, which offers women on-trend leisurewear, designed to make you feel and look your ultimate best. The six new brands have all been specifically chosen by John Lewis as they are high quality, made to last brands offering up the best sports bras, best leggings and best leggings with pockets that will ensure your workout wardrobe is in great shape.

Available on johnlewis.com and in six shops across the country the new brands include the exclusive UK launch of premium American brand Athleta. The fitness and lifestyle brand designs active performance clothing that is beautiful, technical and sustainable to carry women through their lives in motion - from yoga and training to commute and travel. In addition to being a B-Corporation (a company that uses business for good) Athleta is committed to igniting a community of active, healthy, confident women and girls who empower each other to realize their limitless potential.”

Athleta will join hugely loved sports brand Sweaty Betty, now available in John Lewis stores for the first time. Other new brands to launch within the space include high fashion sportswear label Stella by Adidas, Hush’s first-ever athleisure offering, Calvin Klein Performance and Scandinavian brand Ilse Jacobsen.

Jo Bennett, Head of Womenswear says, “ We have seen a radical shift in the way we are living our lives, and what our customers now require from the clothes they choose to wear. At the heart of this concept are women who have an incredible zest for life, they are active, strong and enjoy fitness but also enjoy a little indulgence!"

As well as selling activewear John Lewis recognises the importance of fitness in peoples lives, both physically and mentally and aims to build local communities by holding virtual wellness classes and events hosted by brand ambassadors. The next event is tomorrow 5th Sept where they'll be unmissable talks on mental health, meditation workshops, yoga and dance classes, cookalongs and more. All in collaboration with experts like AJ Odudu, Lucy Sheridan, and Naomi Shimada.

Tickets cost £5 per two-hour session, with different themed sessions like midday mindfulness running throughout the day - so pick the one that speaks to you most by clicking here...
