The hunt for the best slippers should not be considered lightly; from chilly evenings cosied up in the living room to days spent working from home, slippers form a crucial part in completing anyone's wardrobe. Not only do they provide comfort and warmth in winter, but I would argue that cosy indoor shoes are an essential for all-year-round wear too, from winter to summer!

FitFlop make some of the most comfortable trainers and the best wellies, plus the woman&home team have always been impressed by the styles we've tested, which are often great for wide fit, and can offer support to wearers with plantar fasciitis and arthritis.

With their plush shearling design and "microwobbleboard" cushioning, these FitFlop sliders promise luxurious comfort, but are they really worth the investment? And more importantly, do they keep your feet warm despite the open-toe design? Here's my full verdict after a week of wear.

FitFlop Shuv Two-Bar Shearling Slides

FitFlop Shuv Two-Bar Shearling Slides: Comfort & Support

The first thing I noticed when slipping these on was just how incredibly soft and warm they felt. The shearling lining is ultra-fluffy and wraps around your feet perfectly, making them ideal for warming up in the evening or throughout the day. And even though they are open-toe, my feet still felt toasty and warm which was a welcomed suprise!

What I really noticed about these slippers is the Microwobbleboard sole which adds an extra layer of height and cushioning. FitFlop’s triple-density cushioning technology is designed to absorb shock and relieve pressure across your foot, and it's truly noticeable, it really does it works! The sole is made from three different levels of firmness a softer section at the heel for cushioning, a firmer arch for support, and an added toe area for balance, this technology has brilliant results, making you feel as though you are walking on air!

They also have a platform sole, which gives you a little extra height without feeling bulky or heavy. I found that this slight lift actually improved the way I walk and my posture too - I can confidently say these are some of the most supportive slippers I’ve ever worn.

FitFlop Shuv Two-Bar Shearling Slides: Style

These slippers look more like designer sliders than classic house slippers, and that’s exactly what I love about them. The two-bar straps offers a stylish and minimalist design, while the soft shearling material makes them feel luxurious, and they also come in two colourways - the natural ivory tone, but also a light pink too. However the neutral colour goes with everything, from comfy loungewear to your favourite barrel leg jeans for a more polished work from home look.

Even though they are indoor slippers, I found myself tempted to wear them outside. Their on-trend design means they wouldn’t look out of place for a quick coffee run or for popping to the local shop, and their fully rubber sole means that you can do so too.

The open-toe design might not be for everyone in winter, but honestly, the plush lining more than makes up for it. My feet never felt cold, even when I wore them on chilly wooden floors. If anything, they helped regulate temperature better.

FitFlop Shuv Two-Bar Shearling Slides: Care and cleaning

The shearling material will require a little extra care to keep them clean and looking good, as sheepskin is a natural fibre so you can't just pop them in the washing machine.

FitFlop recommends using a soft brush on shearling materals, and I’d definitely advise against getting them wet, as that could ruin the softness of the material. If they do get a dirty, use a brush in circular motions to refreshen them up and keep the fluffiness intact.

However, after a full week of wear, they still look as good as new - so as long as you take care of them properly, they should last for years to come.

FitFlop Shuv Two-Bar Shearling Slides: Verdict

I can confidently say that these slipper sliders are one of the comfiest pairs I’ve ever worn, especially after a long day of working and travelling. The triple-density cushioning makes a noticeable difference in support, while the luxurious shearling material keeps you warm and toasty. A standout feature is their design, whilst you may not usually consider an open-toe indoor shoe these have truly changed my mind as they look ultra-chic yet they remain practical.

They are a little bit more expensive than your average slipper, however, they are made from shearling material so you they are excellent quality - plus they have now been discounted in the sale now.

So if you’re looking for something that feels luxurious, looks stylish, and offers warmth and comfort they are definitely worth the investment,

FAQs

What is the difference between slipper and slider?

Differing from slippers which are usually closed at the front and back, sliders are never closed at the front, they leave the toes visible. A closed toe shoe may offer you more insulation, although if you choose a lined slider style such as those with shearling inners you shouldn't notice too much heat being lost.
