Marks & Spencer's quilted coat has us obsessed with its distinct pattern and beautiful color options, making this a must-have for your winter wardrobe.

When it comes to picking the best winter coats this year, it seems like everyone’s talking about quilted coats this season, ever since The Frankie Shop released their green quilted jacket. With its lightweight design, neutral color and oversized fit, it’s all been over Instagram. But while the original, priced at £245, might keep selling out, the M&S quilted coat has got us seriously starry-eyed.

Priced at a much more affordable £79, the stunning M&S quilted coat also features the distinctive quilting pattern of the season. Rather than traditional square quilting, this piece of outerwear features an intricate swirling, circular shape very similar to The Frankie Shop's one.

Timeless shape and on-trend design come together in this stunning M&S quilted coat. With a tie-fastening to give additional shaping to the silhouette, this green shade is a festive favourite!

The M&S coat is available in two classic shades, making for an effortlessly elegant and wearable wardrobe staple. If you're someone who loves all-black outfits and likes to take a leaf out of the Queen’s book like Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle stealing style tips on color-blocking, then the black option would be a chic addition to your winter wardrobe.

But it’s the hunter green shade of the M&S quilted coat which is of course the most on-trend color-way of the moment.

Seen everywhere from social media to the everyday person on the street, this shade is also a popular option for some of the best parkas for women out there this season. Already fashionistas have been sharing how they’ve been styling this winter staple themselves.

M&S shared digital creator Selin Tufanoglu’s look, pairing the quilted coat in green with a black roll-neck jumper, black sunglasses and simple black bag to allow the outwear to do the talking.

Whilst a qualified personal stylist known as dressed4t on Instagram, has also recently posted stunning snaps of herself wearing the M&S quilted coat, dubbing it “perfect” for autumn dog walks.

And don't feel like you have to size-up to achieve that Frankie Shop-esque oversized fit, as customers have suggested the M&S quilted coat already has a generous fit.

The design features a wrap front, with a detachable belt, handy hood and deep pockets are great for keeping your hands warm. For a fashionable winter outfit that’s sure to capture people's attention, why not layer the M&S quilted coat over chunky knitwear for a casual look. Or else simply wear over your best cashmere sweater for a smarter, yet still warm and on-trend outfit.

And if it’s still not quite cold enough where you are to break out your best winter boots and you’re not looking for heavy outerwear, this M&S quilted coat is the absolute perfect choice. Cleverly designed to be as lightweight as it is warm, the M&S expert Stormwear™ technology helps protect you from wintry showers.

We're not the only ones obsessed with this M&S quilted coat and we have a feeling we certainly won't be the last!
