What to buy in The White Company sale – tips from their former fashion editor
Now's the perfect time to invest in luxury for less
The White Company's big Black Friday sale, also known as 'The White Weekend' isn't live yet. Don't worry though, because there's one place where you can find savings and discounts on the brand: Selfridge's.
As their former fashion editor, I have a pretty good idea of The White Company's sale patterns. Until last week, they had a 25% off sale that has disappeared in anticipation of this weekend. If you're feeling blue about missing savings on the very best cotton sheets and plushest bath towels out there, don't worry. We have some other options.
I've been through all the retailers that might stock The White Company's products to find you the best and biggest discounts that are live right now. Luckily for you, I've found savings on their luxurious loungewear, comforting candles, and thick throws. So, here is my elite selection of what you should buy from The White Company's sale. Nobody does cosiness classier than The White Company. And you're about to bring some savviness to the table too.

When The White Company launches their White Weekend, I'll give you some links to places where you might want to look for all your different demands. However, for now, the best place to shop for a deal is Selfridges. There's just one page to look through and 133 items. I've cherry-picked the best ones below, but if you want to scroll for yourself, take a look below.

The White Company sale: our expert-selected top picks
The White Company sale: bedding
If there are two things The White Company are known for, it’s bedding and candles. There is an argument to say that The White Company made bedding white in the same way that Coca-Cola made Christmas red, that’s what I’m telling people anyway. Whilst their sheets aren't in the sale this time, there are some gorgeous quilts, throws and pillows that will make for the perfect bedding refresh.
I've given you the price for double beds where it's relevant.
Hayden Quilt and Cushion Collection: was £220, now £165 at Selfridges (save £55)
The Hayden is an all-year-round best-seller from the brand and it's been around for decades. I know that because my parents bought one thirty years ago and it still looks as good as the ones on The White Company's website. I love the two-tone Mélange cotton front, soft cotton reverse, which offer softness with a little versatility to your bedroom. You can buy coordinating cushions in the sale too.
Somerton Cotton Double Flat Sheet: was £82, now £57.40 at Selfridges (save £22.60)
Clean, crisp, and sharp, these classic flat sheets are a bedroom staple. If you like coordination (who doesn't?) the matching duvet cover is reduced to £77 (from £110), so you can complete the set and save at the same time.
Super Soft Faux Fur Throw and Cushion Collection: was £170, now £127.50 at Selfridges (save £42.50)
Buy this for your bedroom, your sofa, your lounge, your kitchen. Buy it to live in it, because you'll want to. I nabbed one of these last year and I swear it's responsible for doubling the time I spent on the sofa. You can pair it with matching tonal faux fur pillows, which happen to be reduced right now too.
Lyra Moss-Stitch Cotton-Knit Throw: was £80, now £60 at Selfridges (save £20)
Cotton knit throws are new to The White Company's repertoire, but they've been in the works for a while. Cosy, delicate, and light, you could throw these over the sofa or the end of the bed to enjoy an all-year luxury look.
The White Company sale: Fragrance & Beauty
A little-known fact that I think more people should know about is this. The White Company’s beauty products were created in collaboration with the skincare genius and founder of The Ordinary, Brandon Truaxe. In short, it’s seriously good stuff. Here are some suggestions to top up your supplies at home but equally they all make great gifts.
Calm Magnesium Body Lotion: was £25, now £18.75 at Selfridges (save £6.25)
Magnesium is one of those magic minerals that will change the way you wind down. It naturally relaxes your muscles, encouraging deeper, more restful sleep. Pair those powers with notes of juniper, sage, and ylang ylang and you'll be feeding your skin whilst soothing your mind.
Nourish Magnesium Body Lotion: was £25, now £18.75 at Selfridges (save £6.25)
What do you get when you blend soothing aloe vera with nourishing shea butter and calming magnesium? This beautiful lotion. Infused with bergamot and amber, this is a light and uplifting lotion: a true treat for tired skin.
Sleep Body Balm: was £15, now £11.25 at Selfridges (save £3.75)
We've got a bit of a sleep theme going here, so why stop? This ultra-rich, but wonderfully light balm is infused with gentle lavender, eucalyptus, and chamomile. It's a perfect post-bath, pre-bed layer for skin that's struggling in the winter.
The White Company sale: Clothing
Normally, The White Company sale doesn't feature a lot of clothing. However, at Selfridges, it really does. There are some incredible deals up for grabs over there and I've selected the very best of what's on offer. From sumptuous velvet and eye-catching sparkles to timeless, tonal wardrobe staples that can go in your capsule collection, there's something for every body and every occasion.
Cashmere Oversized Roll Neck Jumper: was £180, now £135 at Selfridges (save £45)
Cashmere is expensive, so even though I love it, I never pay full price for it. Saving £40 on this gorgeous roll neck is a great example of a wardrobe staple that you could make a sensational saving on. Snap it up in both colours.
Funnel Neck Knitted Jumper: was £85, now £59.50 at Selfridges (save £25.50)
Elevate your loungewear with this light cotton layer. It slips on over your cosiest outfits, offering a relaxed style and flattering funnel neck. This is off-duty dressing at its finest.
Roll-neck Knitted Jumper: was £160, now £120 at Selfridges (save £40)
This caught my eye in the store the other day. It's chunky, and cosy, and I promise it's as soft and irresistible as it looks. Yes, I bought it. No, I don't regret it. This looks great with jeans, leggings, and skirts.
Faux-fur Trim Hooded Gilet: was £160, now £120 at Selfridges (save £40)
The White Company launched this last year and it was a sell-out success. It'll keep you cosy on your winter walks, whilst offering some glamour with the faux-fur trim.
Open-Collar Velvet Button-Up Shirt: was £98, now £73.50 at Selfridges (save £24.50)
We're coming into party season, which means that velvet has to make an appearance in your wardrobe. I love this shirt for its versatility. Pair it with jeans to elevate your casual clothes, or tuck it into a skirt for a nice evening out. There's also a velvet dress in the sale too, if that's more your thing.
Sparkle Roll Neck Dress: was £110, now £73.50 at Selfridges (save £32.50)
The White Company does sparkles really well and this dress is the prime example of it. Threaded with some subtle sparkly thread, you can shimmer in the light, but also get away with this as a nice dress in the daytime.
The White Company sale: candles
Whilst there aren't any of the brand's best-sellers in The White Company sale (Seychelles, I'm looking at you), there are still some lovely candles to be shopped. Whether this is a gift for someone else or a treat for yourself, these candles and diffusers will enhance the ambience of your home.
Winter Mini Pillar Candle | £12 at The White Company
I don't want you to miss out on The White Company's incredible Christmas candle. I actually buy a large one for my home every year, because the festive scent is so delicious (and super popular too). If you want your house to smell like Christmas, this is the candle for you.
Lime & Bay | £7 to £80 at The White Company
Fans of Jo Malone's Lime, Basil, and Mandarin also tend to love this zesty and vibrant collection. It's one of the brand's best sellers and is perfect for this time of year. It's an easy choice for anything from gifting to home uplifting (my house is full of it).
Sea Salt | £10 to £65 at The White Company
If you're dreaming of days by the sea, this crisp and uplifting collection is what your home needs. It's the equivalent of opening a window when you live along the coastline. I love it.
Tuscan Grove | Between £10 and £65 at The White Company
If you had something a little sweeter in mind, this is the collection I'd recommend. You get the gentle floral notes of orange blossom mingled with the zestiness of bergamot. It's unbeatable.
The White Company Sale: home
Right now, homeware is looking a little lean in the sales. However, I have hope that more will become discounted soon, because The White Company makes some astonishingly good home accessories. Just these few pieces below are gorgeous and it's easy to understand why once you get some insight into the brand. This section is Chrissie's pet project.
Astley Tall Bud Vase: was £8, now £6 at Selfridges (save £2)
I love my vases at the moment and bud vases are my favourites. They're small and cute, but you can make some elegant mantle decorations in your bedroom or down the table by popping a stem or two in each bud vase. I always work in threes, but it's up to you.
Dried Circular Wheat Wreath: was £38, now £26.60 at Selfridges (save £11.40)
This natural wreath is a beautiful way to bring some organic tones and textures into your house. When we trialled it in the office, we added different decorations depending on the season. It's gorgeously versatile.
Optic Ridged Glass Tealight Holder: was £15, now £11.25 at Selfridges (save £3.75)
These elegant crystal-glass tealight holders are the epitome of elegance. The subtle, natural ridges are a stylish essential for any tablescape or candle cluster.
When is The White Company clearance sale?
The White Company clearance sale happens at different locations, at different times each year. Last year, a two-day clearance sale was hosted at Sandown racecourse in June. And this year, a clearance sale was held for two days at the end of February at Newbury racecourse.
These events are ticketed, and offer up to 70 percent off across home, bath, bed, furniture, Little White and more.
How often does The White Company have a sale?
The White Company sale used to be continuous, but now they're turning the discounts off more and more regularly. I would expect a pre and post-season sale three to four times a year, which isn't very often. The next big one will be The White Weekend (starting 29th November), which is the brand's take on Black Friday.
If you sign up to their newsletter, you'll get notifications for when the sale is on as well as daily emails with some shopping inspiration and White Company news. Alternatively, check back here for the deals and discounts that I've found. I'm always scrolling through their sales.
When is the White Company Black Friday sale?
The White Company put their own spin on Black Friday and the Cyber Sales, calling it The White Weekend. The final Friday (29th) in November, right through to the Monday, the company offers deeper discounts on some of its best products, even the latest, most popular pieces. I’ve seen discounts as much as 70 percent, so if you shop carefully, you can bag a whole host of White Company pieces for the price of a couple at full retail price.
Last year we saw up to 60 percent off on bedroom essentials such as pillowcases, throws and bed linen, as well as clothing half price and up to 30 percent off luxurious beauty products, such as moisturising hand lotions. Christmas decorations and home scents were also reduced by 20 percent.
If the weekend passes you by, never fear, as I mentioned earlier, The White Company is no stranger to sales. The Boxing Day sales are huge too, as are its end-of-season sales, so you’ll be able to bag a discount on your most coveted clothing or classic home accessory at some point in the year.
Our top tips for shopping The White Company sale
After years of covering the 'White Weekend' deals, we at woman&home have pulled together a few expert tips for making the most of the discounts:
- Snap up your favorite deals ASAP: If you're keen on an item in the White Company sales, one of my biggest tips would be to take advantage of the prices as soon as you can. This is because, sometimes, items are only around for as long as stocks last - and given how popular The White Company is, products such as clothing can sell out incredibly quickly during discounts. So if you see a PJ set that you've wanted for ages or a homeware deal you can't resist, don't wait.
- Use it as a chance to buy some quality basics: The White Company are famed for their premium quality products, so the White Company sale is a fantastic chance to get some of their best, basic items for a fraction of the cost. Take their bedding, for example, which is made of premium fabrics - their best bedsheets are often made from Egyptian cotton or linen - and can therefore be expensive. The brand also sells lots of cashmere clothing, which can come with a high price tag. As such, the White Weekend sale is a chance to buy quality items that will last for years, for much less than their usual price.
- Check out the ongoing White Company sale as well as the 'White Weekend' and dedicated sales: As mentioned, the luxury brand often runs an end-of-season sale with even more money off in the background of their bigger sale events. For example, you can usually get (out of season) clothing for up to 70% off, which is a much bigger saving than their normal Cyber Weekend discounts, for example. Be warned though that not all of their categories of products are in this wider sale, and often these items are available in very limited sizes or colorways.
Does the White Company have an outlet shop?
The White Company has a reasonable-sized outlet at Bicester Village, which is about half homeware, candles, and fragrance; a quarter womenswear; and a quarter children’s wear.
At this outlet, The White Company stocks its classics sheets and scents (including the sensational Seychelles collection) all for at least a 20 percent discount – I don’t think I’ve ever walked out without buying something.
Other FAQs
How much does delivery cost with The White Company?
In the UK, standard delivery is free if you spend over £50. For orders under £50 delivery costs £3.50. If you need next-day delivery, it's £7.95, but you will also need to place your order before 7pm.
Is The White Company vegan and cruelty-free?
The White Company claims to be cruelty-free, stating on its website that none of the brand’s products are tested on animals, with no fur being used, "We do not test on animals and do not condone animal cruelty of any kind. We have banned the use of fur and rabbit. In addition, our bath and body products will all be vegan by the end of 2022."
However, this doesn’t mean The White Company is a vegan company. While all of the brand’s bath and body products have been vegan since the end of 2022, The White Company still uses responsibly sourced feather and down, which is not vegan, although the company does state that “all the leather, skins, down and feathers we use are by-products of the meat industry”.
