Jimmy Choo and Timberland are launching a new collection featuring rhinestone walking boots
Prepare for something totally new...
Just when you thought 2020 couldn’t get any more bizarre, there’s a new fashion collaboration that’s got people talking.
Have you ever thought your activewear could do with a little more bling? Perhaps your best walking shoes for women could do with a sparkle? Well, a new fashion collaboration is delivering on just that.
Jimmy Choo and Timberland have joined forces for a new collection which features walking boots covered in dazzling rhinestones
The new range - which is set to launch online in the UK on September 9 - will have classic Timberland boots elevated with some signature Jimmy Choo sparkle, with prices starting from £460.
Perhaps what makes this collection all the more interesting is the contrast between the study, practical, Timberland ankle boot and the luxurious Jimmy Choo brand. This is something that drew creative director Sandra Choi to the project.
She told Miss Vogue, “To collaborate with a brand like Timberland adds a nice surprise and reinforces that anything is possible… I love to mix it up by getting together with different creative minds, combining our DNA to create a beautiful and surprising product with unexpected links to the roots of both our brands. Timberland’s outdoor work heritage combined with our high-fashion sensibility creates something really exciting and unique in the market.”
Sandra adds that the collection is likely to make a lot of fashion lovers nostalgic for the 90s and 00s.

She said, “We are always drawn to items which are timeless. Items that resonate [with] feelings of nostalgia: what you were doing when you wore them, how you were feeling… It makes the items become more treasured. It gives you a sense of optimism and youthfulness.”
If the new eye-catching boots weren't enough of a selling point, Timberland has also pledged to plant a tree for every pair of the Jimmy Choo x Timberland boots sold - which reinforces the brand’s 2019 commitment to plant 50 million trees in the next five years.
