It's a struggle to find a plunge bra that isn't too padded. The majority of lower cut bras are also push-up designs that squeeze the breasts together - a style that I don't personally feel comfortable in. This bra promises to create a cleavage, without adding additional volume.

I have been wearing Fantasie Fusion full-cup bras for many years. Fantasie specialise in lingerie and swimwear for women with a fuller bust and I find their bras to be both supportive and attractive, however the full-cup designs have a wide centre front gore that will often show under low necklines. When they recently introduced a plunge version of the bra I decided to give this new style a try.

I don't often wear a top with a plunging neckline, but I do own a few wrap dresses and deep V neck evening tops that are low cut. I find V necklines are a flattering choice for my curvy figure. I wear a size 32FF so I'm always on the lookout for the best bras for big busts and Fantasie are a brand that have an excellent reputation in this specialist market. I wasn't looking for an everyday bra, but needed one that worked under low necklines. I wasn't prepared to compromise on comfort or support, so the bra needed to tick a lot of boxes. I wore the Fantasie Fusion Lace Padded Plunge Bra for a night out, and also everyday for 4 days to ensure I tested for a combination of fit and function.

Fantasie Fusion Lace Padded Plunge Bra Review - Shape & Cut

This is a classically shaped plunge bra that has a lower centre gore, compared to most full cup designs. It is made from delicate lace fabric with lower cut inner cups, so the upper part of the cup exposes the breast beneath. The inner cups are slightly padded and made from the same foam fabric as the best T-shirt bras. The back panels are constructed from a smooth stretch fabric and the clasp has 2 rows of hook and eye fastenings. The straps are 2cm wide and fully adjustable.

I would normally wear a size 32FF but decided to try this bra in the sister size 34F as I find Fantasie bras fit tighter around the band than other lingerie brands. This size fitted well, with no overspill on the cups or gaping at the centre front. The stretch lace fabric ensured the cups were smooth without any wrinkles or puckering. The padded inner cups made my boobs look rounder and covered the nipples, without making them look any bigger. The bra didn't show under a tight jersey top.

This bra does not provide the same level of coverage as a full cup bra but I still felt contained and well supported. The underwiring, along with the firm back panels and substantial straps, provide anchorage so the bra feels sturdy and not too flimsy. I put this bra to the test on the dance floor and can confirm it stayed in place and provided support, although the lower-cut cups did mean there was a certain amount of jiggling when I waved my arms above my head!

This bra was incredibly comfortable to wear. The underwires are set wide to ensure they encircle the breast without touching the actual breast tissue and are encased in the soft lining. The lace fabric was soft and stretchy and the padded inner cups were smooth and light, so didn't increase my body temperature. When I removed the bra after wearing it all day it left very light marks on the skin but not enough to cause any discomfort.

If this bra was in a beauty contest it would win first prize. The floral lace is attractive and the edge detail on the cups and straps adds a pretty finish. The straps are attached to the cups with a gold metallic apex detail. There is a small golden charm at the centre front to finish off the overall glamorous look of the bra.

Fantasie Fusion Lace Padded Plunge Bra Review - Care

This bra is made from a mix of Polyamide and Elastane and is hand wash only. I have washed the bra once in warm water using a gentle lingerie liquid soap. After one wash the bra remained in perfect condition, I will update this review accordingly after washing it multiple times.
