Rihanna’s cult Fenty Beauty lipstick beats rivals for staying power—even after wearing a mask
Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty lipstick is crowned Editor’s Choice Award against well-known iconic brands
Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lipstick has been crowned the most durable lipstick when compared to other iconic beauty brands like Chanel and Tom Ford.
We all love a red lipstick moment, but with such a range of options on the market it can be hard to know which lipstick is best. From Charlotte Tilbury's 'lucky' lipsticks to Trinny London’s new red lipstick, there are so many great options available. But one lipstick has just been crowned the most durable. Which? have just awarded Rihanna's Fenty Stunna Lip Paint with their Editor’s Choice Award.
When tested against a variety of other brands, Rihanna's Fenty Beauty lipstick proved to be the most durable by far. This means no more smudges on your teeth or in your mask—this lipstick stays put.
Fenty Beauty's Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour $25 /£20
The 'perfect universal red' that will suit any skin tone. Fenty Beauty states that the lipstick is a "Weightless, long-wear liquid lipstick with a soft matte finish—born in a range of head-turning shades that look incredible on all skin tones."
When Rihanna launched the product she said, ”I wanted a lipstick that wouldn't budge - even as you eat, even as you make out. It's a 12-hour formula, which is one of my favorite things about it. It really lasts all day and is there no matter what you do.”
Which? Found that Rihanna's wishes were met in her product as the Fenty Beauty lipstick was the only brand of the 10 that didn’t need a touch-up. Which? claimed that even after eating or wearing a mask the lipstick stayed put.
Rihanna’s lipstick was tested against 10 matte and satin lipsticks and was one of the cheapest options of the 10 tested. The Uncensored Stunna Lip paint costs only $25. In comparison, Chanel’s Rouge Coco in the red shade titled ‘Carmen’ retails at $40 and was considered the worst-performing lipstick of the 10 options.
Interestingly, one of the other best-performing products was the cheapest overall lipstick. L’Oreal’s Matte Liquid Lipstick retails at just $11.99 and had an incredibly durable finish that was hard to remove even after the tests had finished.

L'Oreal Paris Rouge Signature Matte Liquid Lipstick $11.99 / £10.99
Available in 12 different shades this ultra-matte lip ink has a super-lightweight finish. The oil-in-water formula is breathable but lasts all day in a comfortable soft finish.
It seems clear that although there are a lot of different lipstick brands on the market, it isn’t always the most expensive ones that are best.
Matthew Knight, a product testing expert at Which? said “Our tests revealed that if you're looking for a long-lasting lippy, it's worth opting for a liquid, matte finish lipstick over traditional bullet-style products.”
So if you want lipstick that stays on all day, invest in a liquid lipstick that won't let you down.
