The award-winning ‘Beauty Icon’ make-up buy that’s perfect for summer
Debenhams have announced their first ever Beauty Club Community Award winners - as voted for by beauty lovers across the country.
The winners were unveiled by Strictly presenter Tess Daley at a glitzy, beauty-star studded ceremony at London’s Ham Yard Hotel. Among the brands that claimed the top spots were some of our personal favourites:EstéeLauder, Clarins and Yves Saint Laurent were all given high honours.
But perhaps the most coveted of awards on the night was the prestigious ‘Beauty Icon’ accolade, which highlighted a beauty product that’s received cult status among fans. Elizabeth Arden’s famous 8-hour cream was a strong contender, as well as our favouriteTouche Éclat Illuminator Pen.

The winner was an outsider we couldn’t have predicted, but when we heard the reasoning why, it seems the obvious choice when it comes to summer beauty dilemmas.
Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray, £24, was awarded the top accolade of the night, with the judges deciding ‘a full-face of make-up isn’t complete without this iconic mist, offering the upmost staying power’. Spritz over make-up to help it withstand the elements, whether that’s wind, rain or scorching heat. Not only will fix make-up in place, but it will also leave a soft, dewy effect on the skin.
So how does this wonder product actually work?

The mist is developed with something Urban Decay have coined ‘Temperature Control Technology’. A spritz of the product cools down the make-up while it sits on your skin, meaning it will stay put throughout the day and night, in spite of testing weather conditions. The stats back up the brand’s claims, with 78% of participants claiming Urban Decay’s All Nighter helped their makeup last for 16 hours.
Debenhams told us, “A true makeup must-have that helps to stop those makeup meltdowns. Whether it’s in the office, on holiday or dancing til dawn, this setting spray has the power to stop your makeup from sliding. It’s everyone’s BFF.”

And those who have tried the products couldn’t agree more.
‘I’ve this product. I discovered it about 8 months ago and purchased it for a 12 hour flight. It works great and allows me to also spray a rose water mist for hydrating and my makeup still remained in place. A wonderful investment!’ said one reviewer.
Another commented, ‘I have used this setting spray for about a month now and it has changed my life! It is amazing! your makeup will literally last all day. I do my makeup for work around 7:00 AM and sometimes don't take it off until 11:00PM and it still looks perfect. I would buy a million!!!’
