1. Ameliorate Intensive Skin Therapy, £15
SHOP NOW: Ameliorate Intensive Skin Therapy, £15
You might already be familiar with the chicken-skin busting talents of the original Ameliorate cream, and this new launch is even more potent for extremely dry skin. A multi-purpose balm (use it anywhere that needs extra hydration) it uses high levels of lactic acid to exfoliate away dead and dry skin cells as well as nourishing shea butter and lanolin to leave skin soft and smooth. What’s more it’s non-greasy, and unlike petroleum based balms won’t block your pores. For best results apply twice a day for the first week, and then as often as needed after that.
2. Sol de Janeiro Biggie Biggie Bum Bum, £72
SHOP NOW: Sol de Janeiro Biggie Biggie Bum Bum, £72

Working a bit like real life airbrushing, this rich, subtly shimmering cream is packed with caffeine to boost the circulation to your posterior (or anywhere in need of firming!) and even comes with a surf-board shaped applicator. 4. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Illuminating, £35
SHOP NOW: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Illuminating, £35
Technically this launched last month but it’s so brilliant we still want to shout about it. Laura Mercier’s best-selling Tinted Moisturiser has been reformulated to with increased SPF (now 30 vs the original 20) and is now available in 5 more inclusive shades. They’ve upped the amount of skin-boosting oils and antioxidants squeezed into the tube too. Our top pick, their illuminating version, has been blended with finely pilled pearls, giving the kind of lit-from-within glow our dreary winter complexions need.
5. Eve Lom Cleansing Oil Capsules, £55
SHOP NOW: Eve Lom Cleansing Oil Capsules, £55
As with all Eve Lom products, these cleansing capsules not only look gorgeous on your bathroom shelf but are a real treat to use. Massage into dry skin to dissolve make-up, dirt and daily grime before rinsing with warm water. Because it has been formulated with a beautiful range of botanical oils, skin feels nourished after use and stays hydrated for up to 12 hours. It's easy to pop a couple in a bag for a weekend away too.

Feeling somewhere between a liquid and a powder, this balm is a serious step-up from the mousse foundations of the early 00s. Best used with the included brush, swirl onto skin starting from the centre of the face and working outwards. It’s matte without being heavy, giving just enough coverage to blur imperfections.
