Kerry Washington has worn this nail polish since the 90s – and it’s just had a 2021 upgrade

The classic red has been revamped in honor of the brand's 40th anniversary

Kerry Washington is seriously chic, and we'll happily take any of her beauty recommendations on board. She's now teamed up with OPI for its 40th anniverary collection, the brand behind her all-time favorite nail polish.

The Little Fires Everywhere star recently celebrated her 44th birthday, with fellow celebrities Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon all taking to Instagram to wish her a happy birthday.

Sharing a throwback picture herself she wrote, "Sending you ALL love and deep gratitude today for all these beautiful birthday wishes. I feel so loved and blessed to get to spend another year with you all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEE!!!!"

Allure reports that Washington, who wore a very patriotic manicure to mark President Biden's inauguration, has worn the shade "I'm Not Really a Waitress" since the 90s.

More from woman&home:

"I feel like I've come into my own because I spent the late 90s and early 2000s working in restaurants while I was trying to make it as an actress," she told the publication. "And now I am an actress."

As part of a Hollywood-inspired collection to mark the brand's 40th anniversary this year, the sparkly red shade has been given a makeover and new name: "I'm Really An Actress". We see what you did there, OPI!

Part of the 12-shade Hollywood Collection, this is an "over the top" sparkling red.

Washington also shared her favorite nail shape when getting her nails done. "I like to go really, really short with them, then grow them out to a long, slightly angled oval – kind of almond." We very much approve.

Are you a fellow fan of this classic shade?
