Amazon opens its first hair salon and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever experienced
Augmented reality hair consultations are now a thing

The chicest styles, the newest technology—Amazon has it covered at its debut hair salon in London. Trust us when we say that your next color appointment or trim is about to get a serious upgrade.
The two-floor, 1,500 square-foot space is located on Brushfield Street in London’s Spitalfields, and it’s essentially a salon from the future. Augmented reality (AR) hair consultations allow customers to visualize new hues before committing to the dye, while point-and-learn technology enables visitors to find out more about specific products. There will of course be the best hair dryers on hand, plus, Fire tablets are on hand to keep everyone entertained while they're undergoing a hair transformation.
“We have designed this salon for customers to come and experience some of the best technology, hair care products and stylists in the industry,” John Boumphrey, Amazon's UK Country Manager, said in a statement. “We want this unique venue to bring us one step closer to customers, and it will be a place where we can collaborate with the industry and test new technologies."
In addition to state-of-the-art tech, the salon also features top-notch stylists. Elena Lavagni, the owner of Neville Hair & Beauty Salon and a mainstay at Paris Fashion Week, will bring her crew over to the Amazon salon in order to wow customers with a new hairdo.
“I am delighted to be part of this project,” she said in a statement. “Our creative team of stylists, whose flair for hair is as intrinsic as their love for technology, will put the client at the heart of everything they do.”
Since the salon aspect is taken care of, the only thing left for you to do is figure out what to do with your locks. These youthful haircuts will give your hair an extra bounce in time for the summer months. You might also want to consider the clavicut while you're at it—it’s the next big thing.
