Elena Angelides
Elena Angelides is a freelance journalist and writer. She worked for four years as a Senior Features Writer at that’s life! magazine, sharing women’s true-life stories in print, but her portfolio spans many areas of women's health. She covered NHS gynecology waiting times in the UK, speaking to women and doctors on the frontline of this crisis, documented the Ozempic shortage for VICE, and interviewed women facing the indefinite suspension of IVF during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her story on the mental health benefits of psilocybin is published by Reader’s Digest and she’s covered abusive relationships in Refinery29, British Glamour, and that’s life! magazine. At heat magazine, she wrote on beauty and wellness topics from hair dye and body hair removal to skincare and homemade beauty remedies.
A big fan of travel, Elena’s decision to go freelance accompanied a big trip in Mexico and Colombia. Here, she experienced on the ground journalism and a passion for bringing underrepresented and uncovered stories into the public domain by meeting individuals in real life who inspired news stories. Her travel features are published by National Geographic Traveller, The iPaper, Reader’s Digest and Paste Magazine.
