Your recipient will be so impressed, but what they won’t realise is that making this foodie gift is actually a doddle.
You don’t need lots of equipment to make your own pomegranate vodka. All you need is a Kilner jar (don’t forget to sterilise it first). Once you’ve made a simple sugar syrup in a saucepan and allowed it to cool, simply add this to some fresh pomegranate seeds and vodka in the jar. Leave the vodka mix for at least 4 days, giving it a shake once a day. Leaving it for longer will give the flavours more time to infuse and ensure the delicate floral taste of the pomegranate seeds really comes through.
Once you’re ready to package up your pomegranate vodka, decant the mixture into stoppered bottles. Add a pretty label and a handful of fresh pomegranate seeds before sealing up the bottle. This delicious pomegranate vodka makes the perfect Christmas or Mother’s Day gift.
