Sue's blog: A celebration weekend
Friday 27th June 2008
What's in store for you this weekend? Are they all football mad in your house, glued to the TV to catch the Euro 2008 football final? Or will you be watching Wimbledon? Vote for you all-time tennis great in our poll
Perhaps you are heading to Glastonbury for the festival. I love listening to live music particularly on a warm summer evening, but I don't love it enough to be knee deep in mud as my son was last year at Glastonbury!
If you've read The Kite Runner, I can highly recommend the DVD as I've just watched it... definitely a good night-in if you are looking just to flop. Would that be your ideal way to spend some free time? Tell us your simple pleasures
My husband and I, plus most of the woman&home editorial team and their partners, are off to celebrate with our just married Food ed Jane Curran and her husband Harry. What a handsome couple they are (pictured here)! They whizzed off to Thailand a couple of weeks ago to tie the knot. It's party-time on Saturday night, here in London, not in Thailand. We are bound to have a fabulous time and I'm sure the food will be delicious!
If it's party-time at your house then you must try out our wonderful celebration dishes that uses the best of summer food. There's not too much prepping involved - just my kind of food like roasted peppers and anchovy salad with Mimosa eggs, grilled salmon with sumac and courgette mint and pea risotto and chocolate and black cherry marquise... Enjoy!
Sue
